Water Quality Analysis Portland ME
The water report for Portland ME online at:
pwd.org/pdf/CCR_Final_new_web.pdf
The water looks good. However, they list some contaminants present, though they are below the action level. Lead was measured at 5 ppb (maximum contaminant level is 15 ppb), but is below the action level. TTHMs and HAA5s are listed, common in water using chlorine. Fluoride is listed averaging about 1.15 ppm, but has been reduced to 0.6 to 0.8 ppm, as recommended by the US Department of Health. Chloramines is used as the disinfectant averaging 2.23 ppm. Our KDF/GAC cartridge will reduce chlorine, lead, TTHMs and HAA5s, pesticides and organic materials. A special catalytic carbon cartridge reduces chloramines, filter CH.
I would suggest our double under-counter filter Model UCD-CH for chloramines, chlorine lead, arsenic, TTHM and HAA5s, other heavy metals, pesticides and organics (countertop Model CTD-CH). If you'd like to reduce fluoride, up to 90 percent, use our triple under-counter filter Model UCT-CH-F or CTT-CH-F for countertop.
